A Picture is Worth 1000 Words

This past weekend was a doozy! But it was so worth it!

We went on a road trip out to San Antonio and Austin. We played at our favorite pizza place in San Antonio, Fralo’s. The pizza is handcrafted with fresh ingredients and the environment and overall vibe of the place is incredibly authentic!

One of our very special audience members captured us in a Polaroid and gave us a copy of the photo. It was very special because we could tell that this was a photographer in the making. This little girl couldn’t have been older than 10.  She was so cute! She had a pink case and a matching camera. She came up to the stage and took several pictures of us while we were performing. I’m not sure how they all turned out, but this was the one she so graciously gave us!

She left it next to our tip jar. Out of all the ‘tips’ we’ve ever gotten this has got to be the most special.

We had a double that night. After playing at Fralo’s, we went next door to Bar 301, which is owned by the same people. Bar 301 is upscale with a neighborhood bar feel. It’s a piano bar, and we got really good reception as we brought our own version of funky, lounge-style soul.  We played there until midnight. Performing a double can be a bit hard on a musician, so afterward I crashed in a chair, ate, drank, laughed, and could barely move. Did I mention the food? Their food is so good! Compliments to the chef!!!!!!

The next day we were due at Bent Oak Winery for a special Sunday afternoon Father’s Day performance. It was a packed house for sure! We were situated next to the wine barrels and we were just rockin’.

We are booked at Bent Oak Winery once a month for the rest of the year! If you’re in the Austin area, we’d love to see you there. My shows there are usually on a Sunday. Check my show schedule for details.
